What’s up nonbelievers, doubters, and skeptics?
Welcome to the 7/19 edition of Unfollower’s Digest!
Death in the Name of Jesus
Christians are usually the first ones to talk about Muslim terrorists and how many horrible things are done in the name of Allah. How quickly they forget their own history (hello: Crusades).
Well, check this out: a guy on a flight from Seattle to Chicago said “I’m going to kill everybody on this plane. Die in the name of Jesus!” He reminded everyone that some Christians are also very capable of being insane and making terroristic threats. Further proof that some people have a hard time discerning which voices in their heads are gods and which aren’t. It’s almost as if they’re all not a god. Hmm.
Maybe some of you have seen this before, but I just did for the first time. Daryl Davis, a black man, gets dangerously close to the leader of the KKK. It’s a must watch!! It’s not necessarily religion-related, but it does show how bad and dangerous indoctrination can be.
Defiant Religious Folk
Pastor Greg Locke (the same douche-canoe who said that there’s no such thing as a true atheist: ) is keeping his church open and not requiring masks, social distancing, or any of it. Why is it that all of these tiny-dicked motherfuckers think that everything is oppressing them? We just don’t want susceptible people to die, Gregory!
A quote from Mr. Locke:
“I don’t live under Communism! I live under the Constitution of this great nation, which is still great and still free. And most of all, I live under the authority and the influence of a book that we call the Bible.”
There’s a reason that other countries are doing much better than the US during this pandemic. That reason is people like this pastor.
And another pastor Greg who is telling his church the same thing–Greg Fairrington of Destiny Christian Church:
“Do not let the fear the media is driving, do not let the fear of what’s out there, affect us as a church,” the pastor said. “Let’s pull together. Let’s be strong together.”
Bill Nye the Fucking Science Guy
I’m not sure why it’s so difficult for people to wear a mask. They really think that it’s about compliance and getting us used to being told what to do by the government *insert eye roll*. Funny how these same anti-government people seem to be all for what the police are doing to unarmed protesters…
The Good Christians
Ending on a positive note here. It’s always a wonderful thing when I encounter Christians who aren’t judgy and actually can see past our differences to appreciate what I’m doing. I’ve made an unlikely ally in “Christians Who Curse Sometimes” on Instagram. We even joke about getting each other to join our side. Enjoy this hilarious post:
If you don’t laugh at that, I’m not sure that we can be friends…
I hope you have a fantastic Sunday. As always, thank you so much for reading!
Let logic and reason guide the way!
