Welcome to the 7/5 edition of Unfollower’s Digest!
I hope you’re doing well and that you had a great week! Mine was decent. I’m still not working, but I did start some web development courses.
I’m going to jump right into some juicy topics.
Replace Racism with God?
Statues are coming down. Flags are being banned! This is a good start. Mississippi is also getting rid of the confederate flag portion of their current state flag.
Great news, right? Well, yes, but they are also replacing that with “In God We Trust” in some fashion. Yippie. Georgia, the state I just escaped from, currently does that.
Evangelicals for Trump
Separation of church and state? How about combination of church and state?? Check out this event called Evangelicals for Trump. https://www.facebook.com/908009612563863/posts/3894409987257129/
“Tonight is a night of praise, prayer, and patriotism” says one of the attendees.
“They thought Hillary would win by a landslide, but they underestimated God.” said another. Underestimated God??? I would say that it doesn’t make sense, but if you look at the Old Testament, God and Trump actually share many similarities. They both only care for a certain group of people. They both seem fine with rape.
Pastor Rod Parsley chimes in and says that abortion is the “American Holocaust.” Are you fucking KIDDING me???
There’s great irony in people saying that the world is telling them how to think, despite the fact that they have a literal rule book that they blindly follow.
Kenneth Copeland Strikes Again
This moron just can’t stop saying stupid things. Here’s a link to Telltale Atheist’s channel, where he talks about how Mr. Copeland says that we shouldn’t watch the news because that’s how we get COVID-19.
He is a never ending one-man circus.
I get some crazy people on my Instagram, but I rarely make entire posts dedicated to one person’s comment. I couldn’t resist on this one:
God is proven because he is truth? Huh?
He’s proven because he created the Jews? What?
There’s overwhelming evidence that he moves in the life of men? Wouldn’t people of other religions claim the same of their god(s)?
Why are there paintings of him in museums? What does that have to do with anything? That’s not evidence.
Yes, I call myself an atheist and have this account. I do that because of the damage caused in the name of god. If millions of people worshipped and killed in the name of invisible leprechauns, I’d call myself an aleprechaunist.
Truth is truth. I agree with that, but I have no reason to believe that your beliefs are truth.
These are all just claims with no evidence to back them up. You presuppose a god. I don’t.

This week, on the podcast, I highlighted 5 ways to get over the fear of hell. I get many DMs from people who talk about that lingering fear. Check it out here: https://jesusunfollower.com/hell/
On next week’s episode, I read many of your replies about the weirdest experiences that you’ve had in church, and I also go over Revelation 4-6. You can listen to both episodes now by becoming a Patron. Thank you so much to my current patrons, Ainslie and Marissa!
I also told my deconversion story on YouTube live with Neil the 604 Atheist. Here’s the link: https://jesusunfollower.com/my-deconversion-story/
Thank you so much for reading!
Until next time!
