Happy Sunday, Unfollowers!

It’s fall, y’all. It seems like it took forever for it to get here, but, at the same time, February seems like just a few days ago. This has been the strangest year of my life…and I’ve had some fucking doozies.

If you want to support what I’m doing with the podcast/YouTube, you can do so at patreon.com/jesusunfollower. You’ll get access to my videos and podcasts before they go public, in addition to Patreon-only content.

Russian Jesus

Jesus is back! And he’s… Russian? This dude, Sergei Torop, claims to be Jesus reincarnated.

“He now spends his time claiming to be Jesus and ‘teaching’ his followers, which he says are in the thousands. He has written a 10-volume ‘sequel to the Bible’ and lives in a comfortable chalet while his followers reside in wooden huts nearby.”

Here’s what I want to know: who’s falling for this bullshit?? Have y’all not heard of cults before? This guy wrote The Bible 2: Electric Boogaloo, and you guys are just accepting it?? Sheesh. What’s he putting in that vodka?

Pastor Laughs at Safety Precautions

Telltale made a video about pastor John MacArthur, who was basically doing stand-up comedy to his gullible congregation about taking safety precautions for COVID. Typical. The church has been asked to put certain measures in place, and MacArthur deems them “impossible,” even though other churches are doing it with no problem.

Just admit it, John. You think the pandemic is a hoax. That’ll make it a lot easier for the rest of us to understand just what the hell is so bad about trying to protect your people.

Mixing Church and State

We were all saddened when Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg passed away last week. Unsurprisingly, Trump is rushing to replace her, despite Republicans saying (before Trump) that, should a Supreme Court Justice vacancy occur close to election, the next president should replace him/her.

Quote from Republican senator Lindsey Graham in 2016: “I want you to use my words against me. If there’s a Republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsey Graham said let’s let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination.” Now, he’s saying never mind.

Anyways, Trump’s nomination of Amy Coney Barrett should be a little unsettling for liberals and atheists. Trump said that the overturning of Roe v. Wade is “a real possibility.”

Hemant Mehta of The Friendly Atheist made a video about Barrett and how she said “abortion is always immoral” and seems to blur the line between doing what’s right by the law and what’s right by her religion. Check it out HERE.

Ben Shapiro’s Sister

Here’s one for the ladies…not really. It’s probably a little bit triggering if you were raised in purity culture. Ben Shapiro’s sister, Abby, talks about how women should be modest and not drink much (DEFINITELY never get drunk). Now, it’s okay to be conservative, but she’s telling all women they should be this way and making massive generalizations about men. Jaclyn Glenn breaks it down. I love Jaclyn’s sense of humor and style of video-making. I aspire to be the male version of her.
