Happy Sunday, Unfollowers!

If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a good one. If you don’t, I hope you had a good day anyway!

And Black Friday… I don’t do Black Friday. Even on a perfectly good, pandemic-free year, I don’t do Black Friday. I usually just chill and play games… and drink a little.

It’s been a very meh week. I decided not to go to my family’s for Thanksgiving because I think one out of the fifteen people there have actually been taking the pandemic seriously. And, besides that, I’ve just kinda been in a rut.

Some of you might be familiar with my dog, Comet. If not, here’s a pic:

On Black Friday last year, I had to put down my other dog, Bowser. That’s something else that’s been on my mind this week. Here’s a pic of him:

Definitely grateful for the time I had with him. Anyway, onto the newsletter!

Sean Feucht

Part of me wishes that I’d never heard of this d-bag. If you haven’t, I’m sorry to be the one to introduce him to you. Sean Feucht is a Christian musician who prides himself on gathering as many people as possible in the middle of a pandemic.

Rolling Stone did an article on him called Jesus Christ, Superspreader? Guess whether or not this Nickelback reject had a t-shirt made with that phrase on it? Newsflash: he did.

It just irritates the fuck out of me. They’re calling these events “protests.” Thousands were gathering to hear the mediocre music and message that they could have gotten via livestream. But I guess Sean has bills to pay.

Mentally ill Freaks?

Rick Wiles, right-wing-end-times nut job, recently went off on Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine for upping mask requirements in the state. These people are out of fucking control. Here’s a quote from Wiles from the article by Right Wing Watch:

“That’s a man in a dress,” Wiles fumed. “You’re mentally ill, Dr. Levine. You’re mentally ill, and no normal person should listen to you. You need mental health counseling. You need deliverance.”

It’s funny to listen to these comments from people who think everything is a conspiracy and that their creator communicates with them, personally. Yes. Clearly *she’s* the menatally ill one, Ricky.

Same-Sex Parents

I can’t believe that this is happening in 2020. In this article from Law And Crime, same-sex parents are being discriminated against. The state is trying its damndest to fight non-straight couples from having their names listed on their child’s birth certificate. It’s really an insane story. From the article:

“Indiana refuses to list a birth mother’s wife as a parent on a child’s birth certificate without some additional legal challenges. This outrageously disparate treatment between men and women is absurd on its face; that Indiana now seeks SCOTUS’s blessing for its blatant discrimination is vile. What’s more, the specific facts of the underlying case make the whole business even worse.”

This is actually in the state’s brief filed with the Supreme Court:

“In the vast majority of cases, a birth mother’s husband will, in fact, be the biological father of the child, with all the rights and obligations attendant thereto. But a birth mother’s wife will never be the biological father of the child…”

I wish someone else would tell me that religion doesn’t hurt anyone. That’s straight-up bullshit.

You really need to read the whole thing. Check it out HERE.

Oh, Tennessee

This is the state in which I dwell. The Bible Belt is definitely not an easy place to live when it comes to dealing with religious nonsense, and this quote from Mayor Bill Newman of Lincoln County, TN pretty much sums it up.

“I do believe masking helps prevent the spread of it, but I don’t feel I should mandate people wearing masks at this time…the Holy Spirit dwells within us. When I pray for guidance, I may not know the answer immediately.”

*sigh* check out the full article here, including some bonus morons who agree with him!

I hope you have a great Sunday. Wear a mask and watch out for idiots.
